Hello! My name is Brittany and I’m the owner/writer of The Pistachio Project.
Wanting the best for my children, I started on this journey of becoming green and crunchy. I now realize that not only do they need a safe home but that I do also.
Curious about why this blog is named: The Pistachio Project? My husband came up with it… pistachios are green and they are crunchy… thus a great name for a blog that focuses on all things green and crunchy!
I Didn’t Start Out Crunchy!
I started on this journey after having my first baby. I wasn’t very crunchy, in fact I’d doubt if I knew what the term “crunchy” meant.
However, I started making baby food for my firstborn. Not a huge step in crunchiness but it was a step.
Then came along baby number two. He was given that great joy that is called eczema and I started getting into the world of non-scented, non-dyed products. This was my diving board into the world that is crunchy.
I’m Not Perfect
I don’t proclaim to be 100% crunchy. I don’t believe any one can be 100% crunchy.
I am however on a journey to becoming crunchier. I am slowly adding to my ever growing list of crunchy projects and that is what this blog is about.
As I start a new crunchy project, as I hear about some “new to me” crunchy idea, as I find a new crunchy product I write about it.
Originally I started out writing posts so that I could catalog all that I had changed and to further force myself to research more things that were crunchy.
While those are still definitely my reasons, I now have one more reason to keep writing. You! Sharing my findings with you has and will be a very important part of why I write.
What Is Crunchy?
Crunchy is definitely a new term. Not everyone is familiar with it.
The short answer is that being crunchy is being natural, green, eco-friendly…what have you.
However, if you want more info on the what, why, and how of being crunchy then I recommend you check out these posts!
