If you are dealing with tired eyes, puffy eyes, dark circles then this DIY caffeine rosehip eye serum is just what you need!

Somewhere in my thirties, I realized that my eyes were not as young as they used to be. They needed a little bit of help.

I have occasionally used a caffeine eye serum from a natural brand that I do love, but I didn’t love the price tag… especially when money was tight enough as it is.

So I started experimenting with just play rosehip oil aka the anti-aging oil. Rosehip oil on its own is good but I experimented a little bit more.

DIY Caffeine Eye Serum

Caffeine of course is known to help wake you up and I was already using it in many of my DIY products like my Coconut Mocha Face Mask and my every popular Caffeine Gel Eye Pads.

So naturally, I combined these two youth restoring ingredients! And the DIY Caffeine Rosehip Eye Serum was born!

Will this work a miracle and make you look like a 16 year old again? No.
Will it help de-puff and help with dark circles? Yes.

Before we get into the tutorial, let’s talk about the ingredients.

coffee

Coffee

Coffee as we are all well aware of is full of caffeine.

Caffeine is a eye product favorite. Many of the popular creams for tired eyes contain caffeine.

It can help tighten skin (bye bye puffy eyes), reduce redness (what red skin?) and miraculously can help with those under eye circles (who says I didn’t sleep last night?)

In this tutorial, we make our own coffee infused oil but you could also use coffee essential oil if you didn’t want to bother with the infusing process.

* See note below the recipe for the coffee essential oil version.

Rosehip Oil

Rosehips are the fruit of rose bushes. Rosehip oil is oil that is made from rosehips specifically rosehip seeds.

Rosehip oil is a favorite anti-aging product and it is included in many anti-aging products.

Rosehip oil is high in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and essential fatty acids and it is these attributes that make rosehip oil so amazing. Rosehip can help reduce wrinkles, fade age spots, fight pre-mature aging, and more.

Carrier Oil
The carrier oil’s job is mainly to be a way to apply the coffee and rosehip oil to under your eyes. But of course, oil also makes a great moisturizer which is always a good thing for skincare.

You can choose pretty much any carrier oil for this DIY. My favorites are jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, or apricot kernel oil.

DIY Caffeine Rosehip Eye Serum

2 Tbsp. coffee beans (lighter roasts have more caffeine!)
4 Tbsp. carrier oil (jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, or apricot kernel oil.)
1 tsp. rosehip oil

Directions:
First Step: Infusing Oil

Place carrier oil and coffee beans into a small mason jar and cover with lid.
You then have two options:
1) place the jar in a dark spot for 3-4 weeks
2) place jar into a small saucepan, carefully add in water so that jar is about half covered (no water in the jar though!); this is your double boiler. Simmer for 30-60 minutes.

Second Step: Making the Serum
Once the infused oil has cooled, add in rosehip oil to the jar.
Stir to mix oils together.
Strain the entire mixture through cheesecloth.
Transfer to a roller bottle or dropper bottle and you are set to go!

Apply in the morning before applying any makeup.
