Do you know what I just discovered? There are no DIY eggnog sugar scrubs out there! What? I found that rather alarming as I’m sure you do!
Now, I’m actually not that big of a fan of eggnog. My kids love eggnog, especially my healthy homemade eggnog but eggs just bother me.I do however love the smell of eggnog (aka nutmeg). It’s oh so yummy and why should gingerbread scrubs and peppermint scrubs get all the holiday fun?
So I’ve decided to create an eggnog sugar scrub! It smells delightful and it makes a perfect holiday gift as everyone loves a natural skin scrubber during those dry winter months.
This sugar scrub uses just 3 ingredients and most of them you’ll find all of them in your kitchen!
The sugar in this recipe is really just for the exfoliating properties. Sugar helps scrub off those dead cells helping your skin look bright and fresh. (it also helps this scrub taste amazing… should any find its way into your mouth.)
I love using coconut oil for my sugar scrubs for a few reasons. Coconut oil is a solid oil or at least it is at temperatures below 76 degrees. This means it’s a little less messy to use this scrub because it holds its shape a bit better.
Coconut oil is also an amazing moisturizer which will leave your skin feeling oh so smooth! It’s also helpful for aging as it’s packed with antioxidants.
But if you just don’t love coconut oil, feel free to swap it out for your favorite skincare oil.
Nutmeg reduces redness and inflammation. Nutmeg is also wonderful for acne, eczema, and blemishes.
Eggnog Sugar Scrub
Mix sugar, coconut oil, and nutmeg in a small bowl.
Pour sugar scrub into your favorite jar and you’re done! (I love these jars).
To use, gentle massage over your skin and rinse off.
