This skin firming coffee scrub is great at helping tone your skin and reducing the appearance of cellulite… Not to mention is smells absolutely amazing!
Have you ever wished there was a magical way to firm your skin up a bit? I know I have!
What about cellulite? It’s said that 80% of women have cellulite so in theory we really shouldn’t be ashamed about it!
I’m definitely not saying we should feel awful for having cellulite when pretty much everyone else has it too…. but we women like to looks as best as we can so if we can firm up that cellulite then firm it up we will!!!
Now, I’m not saying this skin firming coffee scrub will magically rejuvenate your skin… it’s good but it’s not a miracle worker!
I will say that using a coffee sugar scrub a few times a week can really reduce the appearance of cellulite.
It’s not going to remove cellulite. Sadly it can’t do that but the coffee in this sugar scrub helps increase circulation and tones your skin thus reducing the appearance of cellulite.
You already know that there is coffee in this scrub but let’s look at all the ingredients (all whopping three of them, yet another reason I love this scrub; it’s so easy to make!)
Coffee
As I already talked about coffee can improve your circulation which helps reduce that cellulite. It can also help collagen production which in turn will help your skin retain elasticity.
Coffee is full of antioxidants which well help you in the anti-aging department. The coffee grounds also make an amazing exfoliant to help scrub away those dead skin cells.
Sugar
The sugar in this recipe is really just for the exfoliating properties. Sugar helps scrub off those dead cells helping your skin look bright and fresh. (it also helps this scrub taste amazing… should any find its way into your mouth.)
Coconut Oil
You could use any oil in this scrub but I love using coconut oil for a few reasons. Coconut oil is a solid oil or at least it is at temperatures below 76 degrees. This means it’s a little less messy to use this scrub because it holds its shape a bit better.
Coconut oil is also an amazing moisturizer which will leave your skin feeling oh so smooth! It’s also helpful for aging as it’s packed with antioxidants.
If those aren’t enough reasons to want to try this coffee scrub, how about just the fact that coffee smells absolutely amazing?!
It’s no wonder that I use coffee in my coconut mocha face mask and my caffeine gel eye pads!
Skin Firming Coffee Scrub
1/4 coffee grounds
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup coconut oil – melted
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.
Transfer to your favorite storage container.
For best results, you’ll want to use this skin firming coffee scrub a few times a week.
are the coffee grounds used or fresh?
It you want just a single serving of this scrub (aka lasts for a day) then used grounds are fine. However, if you want to store your scrub from longer than a day then it’s best to use fresh grounds.
Are the coffee grounds use?
Unused coffee grounds are best. Used coffee grounds can be used but only if you will use the whole batch the same day (as used coffee grounds can breed mold)
In your experience how many uses will this recipe yield?
Well, it really depends on how much you are using per use…. but this will make about a 1/2 cup (I should increase the amount to at least a cup as that’s a bit more normal) – 1 cup often gets me 4 uses.
