How to Naturally Clean Stove Vent Filters
Items Needed:
Large pot
Water
Baking soda
Vent Filters
Directions:
Get your largest pot and fill it almost to the top with water. Place the pot on the stove and bring to a boil.
Next, slowly sprinkle in the baking soda, I used about 1/2 cup. Be careful, it will fizz like crazy but will quickly dissipate.
Now place your vent filter into the boiling water.
Odds are you will only be able to fit half of the filter in and that’s okay.
Boil the first side for about 1-3 minutes, carefully remove the filter using a pot holder or tongs, and then insert the remaining side into the boiling water for 1-3 more minutes.
Rinse in hot running water to remove the last of the gunk.
Transfer the now clean filter to a towel.
Pat dry as much as you can and then prop up so air can circulate around it and finish drying your filter.
Once dry, simply pop it back into place and you are done.
